Meet the teachers
Sherry Trujillo
I come to teaching preschool with 13 years of experience in the Kuna School District at Hubbard Elementary and Indian Creek Elementary, where I worked with Kindergarteners through third graders, mostly as a Paraprofessional in the Title 1 program. I have a college Associates Degree from Ricks College and I have had three years of Para Academy, special training classes for working with students. I especially loved the work I did in the Kindergarten Booster Club, which was used to help write the grant for Kindergrow. Later I worked in the Kindergrow program. I was born in Texas but have traveled around the world, living in Alabama, Texas, Georgia, Germany, Kansas, and Idaho, supporting my husband Howard in his Army career. He retired as a Lieutenant Colonel. We are the parents of 5 children-three daughters and two sons. We were licensed foster parents for several years. Our oldest 4 children are married and we have 9 grandchildren and one more on the way.

Learning has always been a passion of mine. I enjoy working with others to help them discover a love for learning. For the last three years I have worked for the Kuna School District as a Title 1 Paraprofessional, working with Kindergarteners through third graders. I have enjoyed seeing these kids overcome obstacles and find that learning can be fun. Currently I am pursuing my degree in Elementary Education through BYU-Idaho. I have taken several child development courses, along with the Kuna School District’s Para Academy which focuses on small group instruction. I grew up here in Kuna, where I now live with my husband and our little girl. We enjoy spending time outdoors, hiking, camping, or playing sports. I coach 8th grade volleyball at Kuna Middle School, along with 7th grade girls and boys basketball at Fremont Middle School. where I enjoy helping student athletes deepen their love for the game and learn new skills.
